America's oldest president

Ronald Wilson Reagan was born Feburary 6th, 1911. He had many carrear paths before becoming president from a sports announser, to acter, to governor and finally to president in 1981 on janurary 20th. Even then he changed he choce of political party starting being a demicrat and changing to a republican in 1962.Ronald was america's oldest president, but sertantly that did not effect his ability to be a great one.

Assination attempt

On January 20, 1981 Ronald Reagan was elected into office. Only 69 days later he was shot by a would be assassin. soon later he quickly recoverd and went back to duty. His grac during the dangerous situatuation caused his papularity to drastically increase.
while leaving a speaking engagment at washington hilton hotel in washington d.c. Ronald Regan and three other people were shot by john hinckly jr.. Ronald's lung was punctured my the bullet and quickly recovered with exteam medical care.Ronald was the first serving president to servive being shot in an assassination attempt.

Mr.Hollywood

Ronald Wilson Regan was born on feburary 6th, 1911. Ronald went to Eureka college and studied economics and scocialogy and acted in school plays. When he graduated he became a radio sports announser. A screen test in 1937 won him a contract to hollywood and in the next 20 years appeared in over 50 movies.

The End of the Berlin Wall

"Tear down this wall!" Reagan exclaimed, in his speech in front of the Brandenburg Gate to commemorate Berlin's 750th anniversary, and most importantly, to have the Soviet Union leader Mikhail Gorbachev have the Berlin Wall torn down. The Berlin Wall was a representation of the strong Communist government that ruled East Berlin, which was controlled by the Soviet Union. The wall was meant to show that no citizen from the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) could ever travel or ever dare to escape into West Germany. Another purpose of the wall was that it was supposed to separate West Germany, which was allegedly not fully "de-Nazified" from East Germany.

Reagan wanted his speech to show that the Berlin Wall wasn't solving anything, it was simply causing more problems. The wall was a symbol of discrimination, and showed that the citizens of East Germany had no freedoms. Reagan wanted all of Berlin, (East and West) to reunite and have the wall torn down. Although, Reagan's speech made a great impact, the Communist government of Germany took awhile to respond. On November 9th, 1989 the Soviet Union finally gave in and let the Berlin Wall be torn down.

In conclusion, Reagan, known as the great communicator, accomplished his goal, to have the Berlin Wall torn down, peacefully. Without his moving speech, who knows when the wall would be torn down; it still may have been up to this day. If you were President, wouldn't you want to be remembered as the President who was the reason an anti-freedom wall was torn down, in order to reunite a corrupt land?

Actor Turned President of the United States

Would you ever think that a Hollywood actor would be elected for President? Actually, Ronald Reagan, acted in 53 movies, was President of the Screen Actors Guild, and still was elected as President of the United States. Introduction Paragraph

Let me introduce myself, I am Ronald Wilson Reagan. I was born on February 6th, 1911 in Tampico, Illinois. My parents were John and Nelle Reagan. Since I was a young boy I had a passion for sports. When I left college, my first job was a sports announcer. When my sports announcing career ended, I took up an interest in acting, and after 20 years I appeared in 53 movies. Yet again, I changed my career path and became interested in the world of politics. I was elected Governor for the state of California from 1967-1965. Before I new it, I became engrossed with the world of politics, and took a huge risk by deciding to run for the Republican party for president. To my great surprise, my risk payed off and I became president from 1980-1984 and was reelected in 1984 and served through 1988.
